About me

Udani is a second-year Ph.D. student working under the supervision of Dr. David Watson and Dr. Timothy Cook. She is from Kandy, Sri Lanka, and received her M.S. in Environmental Chemistry from SUNY ESF Syracuse NY. Her current research at UB involves the study of the excited-state charge transfer properties of quantum dots and metal oxide nanocrystal heterostructures for CO2 reduction with metal-porphyrin redox co-catalysts. She was part of the planning committee for the 6th International Symposium on Water Quality and Human Health organized by the Postgraduate Institute of Science, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka in 2019. She was a volunteer in organizing the UB Chemistry Graduate Student Symposium, in 2023 also the secretary of the Graduate Chemistry club, at UB. Outside of research, she enjoys gardening.
